This is a short tour of the Trysquare web app, and the order to set a new workspace up in. Each section links to a fuller guide.
The sidebar
The sidebar is how you get around:
- Inbox: your in-app notifications, with a count of unread ones.
- Assignments: the work given to you, the work you created, and everything else you can see.
- Home: your dashboard.
- Models: each model your workspace has set up, such as Sites or Assets, listed by name. Drag them into the order that suits you.
Your workspace name sits at the top of the sidebar. Click it for Admin settings.
Your home dashboard
Home greets you by name and shows a dashboard of widgets. The widgets available are:
- My open assignments
- Recently created records
- Record count
- Recently completed assignments
- Notifications
- Recent automation runs
To change yours, open Dashboard options and choose Customise dashboard. Click Add widget to add one, drag widgets to reorder them, change what each shows, and click Save layout. Reset to default puts back your workspace's default layout.
People with the Manage dashboard defaults permission set the default dashboards for the workspace and for each role, under Admin settings › Dashboard.
The inbox
The Inbox holds in-app notifications sent by your automations. Trysquare sends none by default, so the inbox stays empty until an automation is set up to notify you. Each notification shows what triggered it and when. Mark read clears one, and Mark all as read clears them all.
Admin settings
Admin settings gathers everything about how the workspace is set up.
You only see the settings pages your roles allow. Tenant Admins see them all.
| Group | Pages |
|---|---|
| Workspace | General, Members, Roles, Branding, Reports, Dashboard, Billing |
| Configuration | Models, Import, Forms, Statuses, Automations |
| Account | Profile |
Back to app at the top returns you to your records.
Setting up a new workspace
A new workspace is empty, so it works best set up in this order:
- Branding: your name, logo and colours, so everything after carries them.
- Models: the things you track, their fields, and how they link.
- Import: your existing records, from a spreadsheet.
- Forms: the inspections and checks you carry out, published and applied to your models.
- Statuses: the stages your work moves through.
- Members and roles: your team, and what each person can do.
- Automations: who hears about what, and when.
Then start your first assignment, and put the mobile app on your team's phones.
